Pleased that you've taken on board what I taught you and put it all into practice in this mix. Phrasing is perfect, was impressed by the use of EQ's to counter conflicting frequencies in the mix, Mixes are in Key and track selection is great too (I can't teach you good taste!) Action points: i'd look into beat-gridding in Rekordbox - makes mixes super-tight! It would also be great to do another session and look into this further... preparing tracks to form a set / journey, how to start, build, break, peak and end a set. and associated preparation beforehand that makes life fun and easy whilst your playing. On the whole you're flying mate... keep the disciplines / foundation strong and then you can start to experiment further with creativity (loops fx etc). Well done. 2012-10-12T17:27:26Z Comment by EVIL TWIN @eviltwin-dj: listening again... this track has a complicated structure and difficult one to pick out the start of the phrase because the the melody arrangement. some producers do that on purpose too lol, tricky one! 2012-10-12T17:17:58Z Comment by EVIL TWIN not sure if this was in phrase... perhaps a couple of bars late... may explain 2 bars of beats before the new track dropped. no biggie mate - all other mixes have been perfectly in phrase so far! and in the context of the whole mix a minor point. 2012-10-12T17:16:04Z Comment by EVIL TWIN another great mix... nicely fading out 'something special' vocal as the new track came in. again perfectly in phrase - great stuff! 2012-10-12T17:13:19Z Comment by EVIL TWIN nice mix... mid range EQing good, i'd perhaps have killed the track you're mixing out when the vocal / break started in the new track... not a massive point, nit-picking really. 2012-10-12T17:11:33Z Comment by EVIL TWIN cool... bringing in a new beat in a break can be kinda risky to pull off but because with brought the beat in with no bass / high pass filter you were able to fade it in nicely - the other track drops in well too. good :) 2012-10-12T17:07:37Z Comment by EVIL TWIN sick mix... beat over the vocal before thena great switch to the new track on the drop & vocal... exactly how it supposed to be done, perfect! 2012-10-12T17:05:20Z Comment by EVIL TWIN like the way you bring the mix's energy down here and the way you mixed it to do it.... the tracks were in 'phrase' nicely so the vocal of the next track started right as the track before ended - Great Work! 2012-10-12T17:04:05Z Comment by EVIL TWIN nice EQing the mid range / riff out :) 2012-10-12T17:02:31Z Comment by EVIL TWIN nice! 2012-10-12T17:01:39Z Comment by EVIL TWIN Sick transition! 2012-10-12T17:00:35Z Comment by user2851547 Love this track 2012-10-11T16:48:48Z
