For Neil Armstrong by Jason Cullimore published on 2012/09/08 03:01:24 +0000 One of my favourite childhood memories is of the time I looked at the moon and asked my parents "has anybody ever been there?" My parents said "yes, people have been there in a rocket ship." I was overjoyed and ran around yelling "we've been to the moon! We've been to the moon!" It is still probably the greatest scientific and engineering achievement humanity has ever accomplished. So I was very sad to hear that Neil Armstrong, the first human to walk on another world, has passed away. I wrote this piece to commemorate his great journey, and hopefully to share the wonder I still feel when I think of people travelling to the moon.
