Since the age of three, Jasara Renee has been performing around Southern California. Growing up, she was inundated and constantly surrounded by musical talent, which ultimately skyrocketed her to becoming a phenomenal musician. Her father, Ken Bates, is an amazing guitarist and spent great time introducing Jasara Renee to band performances, classic musical stylings throughout the ages, as well as vocal and instrumental techniques that aided the development of Jasara Renee's unique musical creations. Her mother, Valerie Bates, passed on her abilities to write stories and lyrics and constantly encouraged Jasara Renee's writing abilities, no matter how small the creation.
Jasara Renee grew up in a family dedicated to art and music. For years, she performed in drama and choir productions as well as church worship teams. After learning violin for six months, she decided to move onto playing keys at ten years old, falling absolutely in love with the instrument. She began writing musical comedy acts and learning to recreate by ear songs by Hanson and Celine Dion. At thirteen, Jasara Renee wrote her first recorded song called Butterfly and made a music video with her friends for a school video challenge.
When Jasara Renee turned fifteen, she put together her own band to perform covers as well as her own music under her own name for the Antelope Valley fair. She also performed with her father in a cover band that played music from the 1960's called the Acme Rockets.
At sixteen years old, Jasara Renee began to develop incredibly as an artist, cranking out one song after the other in the studio. Musical masterpieces such as He Never Calls and Dreams are among some of her earliest work, and they are still extremely popular favorites of her fans. She started writing in more than one musical genre and opened the door into the musical stylings of Pop, Rock, Country, Hip Hop, Blues, and even Jazz!
"I write whatever comes to me! I know it's hard to imagine me singing a Pop ballad one moment and busting into a Hip Hop song the next, but why let good songs go to waste? A good song is a GOOD song and it DESERVES to be heard!"
At nineteen years old, Jasara Renee had already written over twenty-five songs. She began working at Guitar Center where she met Bryan Engels, who aids in playing guitar and drums for Jasara Renee. Smash creations began to come out such as Beautiful and Chained To Life! She then worked with a cover band called One Blu Shoe for a short period of time, covering R&B hits.
At twenty, she joined Byran Engels and Jake Gunterman in the cover band One Night Affair, covering 80's hits and performing in the Antelope Valley popular venues of Schooners, Papa's BBQ Pit and Fresco II. In between sets, Jasara Renee would play her solo material, and a fan base began to develop and return to see her perform. Jasara Renee wrote the song Me And The Baby for the girls who devotely returned and brought back new fans to Papas BBQ Pit.
Jasara Renee went on to finish her BA in English and finish her teaching credential before pursuing her music hard core!
