JAMESON TABOR is a dance-pop Singer, Songwriter, and Producer located in Los Angeles, CA, originally from Portland, OR.
It’s impossible not to feel the energy of artist and producer Jameson Tabor. While his upbeat songs are heartfelt and sincere, Jameson's soulful voice and playful attitude showcase an updated, sensitive version of masculinity. Jameson spins a fresh sound in the new alternative sub-genre of dance-pop called bluestep.
Jameson honed his performance skills through his upbringing in theater, with a dream of one day writing for and starring on Broadway. His goal was to redefine what a musical could be and bring pop music to the stage. As the songwriter on three fully-produced stage works, Jameson received national recognition for his musical theater compositions. He has also been awarded for his skills in dance and choreography by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
After a career move to LA in 2015, Jameson realized he belonged in the pop world. One year later, he released his first original song "Pull Me In." The lo-fi futuristic music video went on to win the Eurasia International Film Festival. Facing the new harsh realities of living in Hollywood and a relationship plagued with anxiety, in 2017, Jameson released the culmination of his new experiences through a blues-pop fusion EP called “PURSUIT.” The album portrays battles between the headstrong and heart-driven versions of his past and present self. It is scattered with images of a dark and dream-like future while persistently looking forward with a positive twist.
In 2018, Jameson released his second EP, "All These Tears (Remixes)" which explored his struggle to find balance between his dominating career goals and his relationships. The EP was accompanied by a dance music video featuring himself and dancer Mallory Stephan, and included a 'House Remix' which has garnered over 100K plays in stores and radio worldwide. Later that year, Jameson partnered with the ride-share streaming platform, Steereo, where he was named as a Top 10 Artist of the year, and was invited to write and record at Capitol Records with Grammy award-winning writer/producer Robert Cutarella. In 2019, he released the music video for single "Black Dust," which he based primarily on his parent's divorce. The video was featured in the Portland Film Festival and won the Global Music Awards in 2020, making statements on diversity and inclusion. Followed by the 'Chill Remix' (2019) and 'Acoustic' (2020) duet version featuring Taylor Taylor, the song speaks to the impact of an ever-growing divide in the world, and urges listeners to listen and "look around."
A self-made artist, Jameson continues to collaborate, coach, perform and produce music both locally and internationally.
