James Douglas Cooper is an ARIA charting songwriter, singer and producer. After a 10 year hiatus from making records Cooper releases In Pursuit of the Firebird his new and richly textured album mixed by Emmy® Award-winning producer Sean Carey (Cat Stevens, Don Was) and mastered by Reuben Cohen at Grammy Award-winning Lurssen Mastering, LA (George Harrison, Eric Clapton). LA-based, Cooper's songwriting has clocked over 290,000 streams on Spotify. His first album was signed and released in North America, Australia and Japan. He toured and worked as a musical director and session musician in the UK, Europe and Australia. His recent singles have all been play-listed by American Songwriter’s Hot Indie Favorites. Cooper’s debut Second Season (Standard Edition) was released to glowing reviews. After touring the record extensively in Australia, London (playing such esteemed venues as Ronnie Scott’s London) and the wider UK, Amsterdam and France, Cooper co-wrote a new version of his 2004 cut Beautiful As You (Reissue) with Australian favourites The Whitlams. Their version of Beautiful As You hit the ARIA Chart Top 40, and a faster single version hit the ARIA Australian Artists Top 10 Singles Chart a year later. Cooper moved to Europe and he successfully self-produced and crowd-funded a sophomore offering Foreign Cities (Standard Edition) releasing the project as a series of short music films, vinyl, compact-disc and digital editions.
