My general process:

# Create a loop 1
# Create a loop 2 that works well with loop 1
# Create a loop 3 that works well with loop 2
...
# Create a new loop n+1 that works well with loop n

I numbered the loops as they created, and then 16 sections total by pairing adjacent loops.

The piece was created using Renoise; the maYbe command was used to add some semi-random ambient background sounds.
