Composer Jim Stephenson (ComposerJim.com) is teaming up with Chicago Symphony clarinetist John Yeh on a list of things that clarinetists might like to work on, and then turning these into etudes.

Examples so far (and what they address) are:

Cat Cake (legato slurs downward)
Funfetti Pony Piñata Cake (staccato tonguing)

(All titles come from Molly Yeh's blog about cake recipes. Molly is John's daughter, and has just been awarded her own cooking show on the Food Network!)
