Jack Whu Naarm Jack Whu (they/them) is a queer performer born in Naarm/Melbourne. They study flute and concurrently have a keen interest in electroacoustic music. Their vision is to make classical music more accessible to the wider community. By infusing unconventional sounds on an orchestral instrument like the flute, they aim to broaden access to the classical form of music through abstract sound. Their practice hopes to create a safe space for the audience to explore intimate images and emotions through the use of complex harmonies and textures. Expect to be taken on a journey through multifarious sound waves of glitches, ethereal resolutions and warped microtones. You’ll always see them improvising to their music on an amplified flute.
