J.Lambert is a 29 year old Jacksonville, Florida native. Growing up he was faced with adversity in multiple ways. From dealing with a dysfunctional family and coping with his mother being addicted to drugs and his father being a full blown alcoholic to being placed in foster care at the young age of 11 years old. His first few years of being in foster care he was moved around frequently. Through the time being moved around J.Lambert experienced every aspect of his city from the hood to the suburbs. The good, the bad, and the ugly. It was shortly after being placed in foster care that J.Lambert turned to music. He began his journey with rap music at 11 years old in 6th grade. He sat with a group of kids at lunch everyday that always had a cipher rather it be battling another kid or just freestyling in general. He would record freestyles at home with his best friend, Kali, on a tape recorder in the garage. They would spend hours in the garage listening to beats and free-styling. Shortly after J.Lambert turned 14 years old he began recording music on a computer. That’s when music became a serious outlet. He began writing full length songs to beats with hooks and concepts. He released his first project his 9th grade year. Although it was not his best piece of work, he received praise and hate due to it. Some individuals were open to listening and some shut it down right off the bat. No matter the amount of people that had doubts, spoke negatively in regards to his music, or tried to persuade him to choose a different path, he stuck to what he believed in and stayed true to himself. J.Lambert is known to take his life and put it in his music. From the good to the bad a listener will experience a “Up & Down” ride when listening to a song/project by J.Lambert.
