I the Siren Darci Gamerl Omaha Artistic collective, I the Siren shares a desire to truly express ourselves as artists in a collaborative and comprehensive, multi-disciplinary outlet. Inspired by text and vocal artistry, each member brings experience from a variety of artistic genres. The only ensemble of its kind, I the Siren was considered for the American Prize and continues to redefine chamber music performance art. The evocative name —inspired by the alluring mythological creature—reflects the enchantment and irresistibility of their unique sound. Each artist brings a depth of experience to the ensemble, and their collective experiences have enabled them to explore a full spectrum of musical styles. Mezzo-soprano, Blythe Gaissert brings a wealth of experience as a soloist and opera singer, performing with the Metropolitan Opera, Opera America, and the American Opera Projects. Oboe/English hornist and arranger for I the Siren, Darci Gamerl works as a freelance musician throughout the United States and Canada as an orchestral musician, soloist and holistic-minded music entrepreneur and pedagogue. Stacie Haneline has a vast wealth of expertise and artistic insight through her extensive experience as a collaborative pianist with artists and opera houses worldwide. Her outstanding leadership has brought a wealth of new commissions, residencies & partnerships for the trio, including recording and guest artist appearances across North America. Only a handful of compositions exist for our unique ensemble, and as a result, I the Siren actively commissions new works and arrangements of standard repertoire.
