Jennifer Huffstetler, Vice President, Data Platforms Group, and General Manager, Strategy, Xeon and Memory Group at Intel, joins host Allyson Klein to update on Intel’s data-centric strategy for network transformation and share news on additions to its unmatched portfolio of products for 5G network infrastructure. The latest updates continue to further Intel’s vision of enabling customers to do more with data, wherever data occurs.
This week, Intel introduced many exciting advances to enable network transformation from core to edge, headlined by the Intel Atom® P5900 processor, a a 10nm system-on-a-chip for wireless base stations, and expansion of Intel’s 2nd-gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor line-up. These latest processors deliver customers up to 36% higher performance over the prior generation for our customers across their cloud, network, and edge needs.
Other announcements this week, including the launch of the new Intel Ethernet 700 Series network adapters with Hardware-Enhanced Precision Time Protocol (PTP), which increases the timing precision required for 5G networks through a combination of hardware and software enhancements, and the all-new structured ASIC codenamed “Diamond Mesa” for 5G networks, illustrate the unique breadth and depth of Intel’s 5G infrastructure portfolio. Diamond Mesa targets up to 2x the performance or half the power of its predecessor.

Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark and MobileMark, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchases, including the performance of that product when combined with other products.
