Johnson is a published poet, spoken word recording artist, singer-songwriter, activist, and Filmmaker that uses her Music & ART to bring awareness to important social issues, like childhood sexual abuse. All of her creative endeavors are produced and promoted by her small production company In The Closet Productions. Established in September 2009. Johnson has performed for The Red Cross respect ED leadership program, The Manitoba Congress of Black Women, Voices (Massive) workshops for youths, Klinic Community Health, and The Spence Community Association to raise awareness and funding. *** On October.26th, 2011, Johnson was chosen by The Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council and Mentoring Artist’s for Women’s Art (MAWA) to be honored by Jennifer Howard ( The Minister of The Manitoba Status of Women) for using music for social change.
