Steam And Fog (Disquiet0254) by ikjoyce published on 2016-11-11T16:04:27Z This week's junto involves using two samples (one of a fog horn, the other of a steam whistle) to make a track. I cut up a few interesting snippets of the samples, and first up used them to create a little track, which has the feel of a slow and slightly struggling steam engine. I then took a copy of this and slowed it down using PaulStretch to 4 times its length, bringing out some of the tonalities. I then imported this back into Acid Pro, gave it some ensemble and reverb, placed it at the end of the original track, and added one or two extra slowed-down copies of the original samples. This second part sounds like fog to me, so I have recreated the Steam and Fog from samples of fog and steam.
