‘Kick ass’, ‘fiercely provocative’. This is not your regular girl and guitar experience. As played by Chris Hawkins- three singles, four plays,(Awkward radio premiere, Back Off twice and Fast and Furious) and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music. ‘That’s DIDI, youngest member of Music Producers Guild and now she’s stepping out from behind the desk. Feisty new punk there, from a very gifted and bright young producer and performer’ Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music. Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net also featured DIDI in a blog post solely about the new artist ‘Musically exciting but with something to say, DIDI has delivered 21st Century punk with purpose…. it’s not surprising that people in the industry are sitting up and taking notice of this newcomer with a wealth of experience in her kitbag’.
DIDI, aka Lauren Deakin Davies has played in bands for the last 11 years. It shows. Just 22, her confident and relaxed stage presence blends with years of song writing experience, resulting in an exhilarating and engaging live set as she performs her catchy, amusing and sometimes fierce self penned tunes. DIDI decided to perform solo after writing Sorry, a song which she just ‘had’ to perform live, in April 2017. As a producer she was able to record, mix and release in record time. She has since toured her second single Awkward, during June, which DIVA Magazine premiered remarking ‘DIDI stands out from the regular pop crowd as a fierce and fearless artist, following her epic debut single, Sorry, comes the brilliant new track Awkward. Enjoy a new anthem for the LGBTQ community’. She is currently working on her debut EP.
