HyperTech (D2 | Liquid Kitchen | BTKRSH)
Dimitar Rizov aka HyperTech first started listening to drum'n'bass in 1998 and he immediately was attracted by the syncopated rhythm and the infectious bass lines, especially after the regular visits of the club `Racki I Tapani`, where drum`n`bass parties were organized. At the time he didn't know anything about electronic music, or DJing really, just had a demo version of PCDJ (a PC mixing program) and started messing around with beats that he found on the internet. At the end of 2000 he joint his forces with his mate DJ Inox and soon after that they organized several drum'n'bass parties in some smaller, but very influential clubs for the scene.
In December 2002 he bought decks, started buying vinyls and got really involved into DJing. After countless hours spent practicing he was getting better and better which resulted with resident nights all over Skopje and Macedonia and soon gained his real place on the macedonian drum'n'bass scene. He shared the decks with artists, such as: Grooverider, Black Sun Empire, Calyx & TeeBee, Cause4Concern, Chris SU, dBridge, Spectrasoul, Dub Phizix & Strategy, Shackleton, S.P.Y, DJ Storm, Seba, Blu Mar Ten, Big Bud, Nookie, Eveson, Vicious Circle, Mefjus, Billain, Nymfo, June Miller, Tech Itch, DJ SS, Drumsound, B-Complex, Bungle, Physics, Felix K, JFB, Disphonia, Linden, General Midi, M.E.S.H., Raggamuffin Whiteman, Cooh, L33 among others.
He also played abroad in: Switzerland (Stans @ Bassick), Italy (Bolzano @ Halle28), Greece (Athens @ Club 7sins) Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo @ 2004 DnB Seminar), Romania (Bucharest @ club Jukebox, Craiova @ Tentation, Sulina @ Synthplants Ekzit 2005, Tulcea @ Synthplants Ekzit 2006), Bulgaria (Sofia @ HMSU Open Air Festival 2006, Broken Balkanz 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and Varna @ Breaktrue), Kosovo (Prizren @ 40 Bunar Fest 2013, Dokufest 2014, Ngom Fest 2015; Pristina @ Spray Club & Oda Theatre) and Serbia (Vranje @ Reload Street Fest and Novi Sad @ 2004 Exit Festival).
In June 2004 along with Darko Stepic and few other friends formed a promoters / DJ organisation - D2. Shortly after that, the D2 collective had its first party with Paul B and after that followed gigs with DJ Storm, Raggamuffin Whiteman, Vicious Circle, Bungle, Black Sun Empire, Spectrasoul, Codex & Kontra, JFB, Big Bud, Nookie, June Miller, Drumsound, Blu Mar Ten, Cause 4 Concern, Seba, Chris SU, Grooverider, DJ SS, Physics, Felix K, Disphonia, Balkansy, High Roll etc. In April 2007 he significantly contributes in organizing Constructor – Urban Arts Fest, which had good feedback from the wider audience in Skopje and Macedonia. Also one of the founders of BTKRSH collective, established for pushing the boundaries of the macedonian electronic music scene,
Starting from April 2003 he works as a radio DJ at Kanal 103, alongside Darko Stepic and Danko Dimoski hosts the first drum and bass radio show in Macedonia - ..Течна Кујна.. [Liquid Kitchen] every Saturday from 8-10 PM [GMT+1]. Many established artists from the whole drum`n`bass spectrum were guests at "Liquid Kitchen" radio show or contributed with recording exclusive guest mix.
HyperTech, alongside Darko Stepic, is a co-founder of 5K DJ Workshop, a DJ workshop which have been successfully running since March 2011. The main reason for creating this workshop is to share the musical knowledge in the art of proper DJing and to make the basic mixing tools more accessable to the young and aspiring music lovers and enthusiasts.
HyperTech's style is subtle combination of future funk, solid groove, ambience, minimalism & experimentation.
His future plan is to promote various dnb artists to the macedonian audience, spread his vibe on the dancefloors at home and abroad and maybe get into production.
