To what extent are we defined by the homes into which we were born? Our first living space, though we have no say as to what or where it may be, may cast a shadow over the rest of our lives. For better or worse, it can form a key part of our identity, affecting how others see us and how we see ourselves. It can open doors for us and advance our careers or it can limit our choices and lower our status. It may even dictate the role we play in society. In this short documentary, we meet six individuals presented against the backdrop of their first home. We gain a sense of what it was like to grow up in these places and discover the impact of these homes on the lives of their inhabitants.
