Playing whimsically melancholic roots music - country tinged indie folk with lyrics equally heartsick and heartfelt - and adopting a stage name from a short story in Weird Tales Magazine, Horace Holloway is the musical alias of Tallahassee, Florida based singer/songwriter Jeffery Errol Morrison. Born in Inverness, Florida, Morrison spent his youth in Warren, Michigan, just outside of Detroit. After a decade spent in the midwest, he abruptly found himself a northern transplant in the deep south after his parents made a late night run from the law and turned up in central Florida. Growing up in poverty, it wasn't until after high school that the possibility of playing music would present itself, with Morrison drawing inspiration from the hard working touring bands he had befriended, including Okkervil River and Margot And The Nuclear So and So's, as well as the sounds of his childhood; Top 40 alternative favorites like The Wallflowers, Counting Crows and Gin Blossoms, and classic country songs. 2019 is set to see the release of his Dirtleg Records debut, the "Tin Foil Stars" EP. Produced by Joe Rodriguez, the EP features Morrison surrounded by a notable cast of musicians in the genre, including: Caitlin Cary (Whiskeytown), Lauren Strahm (Fleurie), Catherine Popper (Ryan Adams, Jack White), Scott Brackett (Okkervil River, Murder By Death), Neil Flanz (Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, Charlie Louvin) and Brett Williams (Mighty Joe Plum)
