Synthesized Environment [disquiet0185-memorymusic] by Lee Evans/Hippies Wearing Muzzles published on 2015-07-17T23:24:51Z About 12 years ago I was wandering around the suburbs of Hiroshima, alone on a very hot, very humid summer day. I saw a temple on a hill and wanted to climb up to see it but I couldn't find a path or road to get up there. I decided to climb up the hill through the bamboo forest, trail or not. The hill was very steep and slippery with leaves. I never made it to the top. For whatever reason I still remember this experience vividly. I used my modular synthesizer to recreate the sounds of the forest, layering a variety of patches. All of the sounds you hear are from the synthesizer (even the sound of traffic in the distance was made using white noise and a lowpass filter), no other recordings have been used. _____________________ More on this 185th Disquiet Junto project (“Summon up a memory, and then summarize it in sound”) at: http://disquiet.com/2015/07/16/disquiet0185-memorymusic/ More on the Disquiet Junto at: http://disquiet.com/junto/ This project was proposed by Robert Thomas, more from whom at: http://dizzybanjo.com/ Join the Disquiet Junto at: http://soundcloud.com/groups/disquiet-junto/ Disquiet Junto general discussion takes place at: http://disquiet.com/forums/ Image associated with this post by Dennis Skley and used thanks to a Creative Commons license: https://flic.kr/p/qNu6Jw Genre entirely synthesized Comment by Str8 Sounds calming night sounds 2015-08-06T23:46:00Z Comment by nermond excellent recreationing. 2015-07-29T14:21:49Z Comment by Cork City Gamelan amazin, really well done 2015-07-23T10:08:49Z Comment by lethatechnique Conjures "Hiroshima Mon Amour" somehow - maybe the lower frequency drone? 2015-07-20T08:14:02Z Comment by dirigent wonderful recreation 2015-07-20T03:09:08Z Comment by Nate Trier wow - i knew where I was before I even read the description!
