Music from unopned boxes (Ice Bookshop Tuning a.k.a Iceface tuning 0.1)) by Hidekazu Wakabayashi published on 2012/05/29 14:41:59 +0000 Music by Hidekazu Wakabayashi for a film "Genesis" directed by Hélène de Crécy recorded in december 2008 image by Hélène de Crécy This piece is composed with Ice Bookshop Tuning (Iceface tuning 0.1). Ice Bookshop Tuning (a.k.a Iceface Tuned Piano 0.1) is my first microtonal tuning that I've had called "Iceface Tuning" until the end of 2012. But in the beginning of 2013 I made the completely new tuning idea that I show on youtube now(yes, every black key is 50 cents higher one) and I decided to call it Iceface Tuning too, just same as my previous tunings. I apologize this process was really confusing to those who had been listening to my microtonal pieces from 2007 when I released “The Ice Bookshop” because there had been some different tunings all called Iceeface. So from now on, I'll call that previous version of Iceface Tuning “Ice Bookshop Tuning" or Iceface Tuning 0.1. Here's the tuning of “Ice Bookshop Tuning" (Iceface Tuning 0.1) that you also hear in this piece. B(around -50cents) C D E(around -50cents) F G A It's kind of B(-50cents) locrian mode which sounds slightly arabic. But with any scale and microtone my intention is mainly focused on to make detune/chorus sound effect to give impressions like melting ices. Hope you'll enjoy!
