After all we hear everything twice - first on the left ear, then on the right one and vice versa. Delayed by the size of the head a sound reaches the ear that is further away a bit later which creates the impression of the direction of the sound. This effect is used in sterophone recordings.

four layers (Noise, Clicks, Crackles and Melody) change between stereophonic sound and echo and let the listening person experience its head as sound protection..
