Helena iLou Helena Toronto Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, immigrated to Montreal, Canada where my interest in the arts began to flourish. Surrounded by many talented friends (from Explosive Sistas step-dance group and Tis Abbay Ethiopian Youth Band) much moved by music and dance, I learnt from them and was able to take my interest to the next level. Moved to Toronto a few years later, joined Nouvel Exposé Dance Troupe, spent the next six years dancing and learning. I learnt how to listen to music, how to dissect it while moving along with it. Most importantly, I learnt how to stay in-tune with my body. I learnt many different styles of dances while with Nouvel. Today I continue to learn my life lessons thankful for all my fortunes. My debut album "Tsetita", a collection of songs, old and new that I have recorded these past few months, was released on August 25th 2011.
