That’s cool; the shock of the new is always an alluring and evocative sentiment within music. However, this isn’t the only method to employ when wanting to get noticed by the public. There’s also something to be said for developing your craft, biding your time, accumulating the knowledge needed to be a true sonic excavator.
Whether by accident or design, Helt's musical emergence has been by the latter, far more scenic, path. As such, both his own productions and his experimental DJ sets are suffused with the very stuff of life: experience; depth and stuffed with music’s true elixer: Soul...
From the beginning Helt's own musical output has revolved around more than just functional techno music, regardless of whether it’s on the turntables or in the studio. Combining subtle arrangements that ride the deep vibes that lie between House and Techno, yet never forgetting the drive for the dance floor - that is what Helt's music is all about.
In the summer of 2009 Helt released his first track on the dance4life album with the likes of Gui Boratto, Isis, Arjuna Schiks and Sandrien (To name but a few). That same summer he went to Bulgaria for a tour amongst others at the Totally Romantic Bar. Things really started moving here. For a while Helt spinned at the small but very popular Klein & Fijn parties at the code 21 in Amsterdam before moving on to the next level.
Nowadays Helt is performing in clubs like AIR and on events like Carnivale. Playing multiple radioshows like the famous XT3 radio in Amsterdam and dance4life radio alongside the likes of Carl Cox and Tiefschwarz. He has a current release named "Set Beat" with remixes by Mark Broom, Russo, Archie Hamilton and Annie Erez & Bobby O’ Donnel. The release has been charted multiple times and received great feedback by artists like Laurent Garnier, Slam, Martin Eyerer, Thomas Schumacher, Terry Francis, Gregor Thresher and Xpress2 amongst others. Momentarily helt is working on remixes and a new EP witch all will be released in early 2011.
Expect energetic techno with a funky minimalistic approach and bits of Jazz, World-Music and Soul that will keep everybody moving.
