The Humanitarian Crisis in Syria | The Forum at HSPH by Harvard University published on 2013-10-22T14:02:48Z The ongoing conflict in Syria has resulted in a large-scale humanitarian crisis with important public health policy implications. An estimated two million Syrians have escaped to neighboring countries of Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. Millions more people remain displaced within Syria's borders. International inspectors have now entered Syria and have been tasked with the challenge of safely dismantling and destroying chemical weapons. This Forum event, presented October 16, 2013, in collaboration with PRI's The World and WGBH, examined the practicalities and decision-making driving the humanitarian response to this unfolding world event.
