Happy Families London Happy Families are a London-based duo consisting of singer, songwriter and artist Lucia Rivero and producer Lawrence Chandler (formerly of Bowery Electric). Their debut single “New Forgetting” was released by Sonic Cathedral in July 2013 with an accompanying video directed by Rivero. The duo has been featured in The Guardian’s New Band of the Day, NME’s Under the Radar, The 405, The Quietus and numerous blogs and ‘zines. From these auspicious beginnings Rivero and Chandler began exploring new directions, taking inspiration ranging from avant-pop to UK bass. The single “Winter” was released in early February 2019. A forward-looking sonic shift for the duo, “Winter” is “a heady, bass-heavy mixture of slow motion beats, deep bass, woozy cinematic string arrangements, atmospheric, ethereal synth and plaintive vocals distilled into a unique sound and aesthetic” (Tap the Feed).
