Music is without a doubt one of the major passions of Latinos. We live it, dance it and enjoy it to the maximum. This is no different for Canadian born DJ from Sydney, Hansito Kamá.
This talented DJ of Venezuelan and Portuguese heritage was born in Windsor the southernmost city of Canada, Hansito Kamá (known artistically) immigrated to Australia at a young age. Influenced by his musical family, Hansito started collecting music and at the age of 18 was given an opportunity as resident Disc Jockey, Tuesday nights at Sydney's famous Salsa Nightclub, Establishment. Not long after at the age of 19, commences as resident Thursday nights at the popular La Cita Nightclub. After the impact made on the dance floor and the bar, in less than a month, the owner offered Hansito further residencies Friday and Saturday nights. Hansito was sure to attain success with his passion for music which went far and beyond.
Aside from his great mixing and hosting abilities, what makes Hansito Kamá feature in the entertainment business? He is multicultural, he is charismatic and he is energetic!
Hansito reaches a large public which includes diverse nationalities, cultures and languages. Which is reflected in his mixing different musical genres, though his roots are tropical Latin music.
"I grew up listening to Reggae, Salsa and Merengue. One of the first clubs I worked at was majority Colombian. There, I learnt more about the Colombian musical culture Cumbia, Vallenato and Champeta at such a young age. I made a lot of Colombian friends and I feel in love with the culture."
Now days, his passion is in all Caribbean music. "I mix everything under and with that genre, from Hip-Hop and RNB to EDM and House music. I know what the Anglo market wants and can deliver too." Hansito Kamá is truly versatile in all markets. He loves diversity.
The life of Hansito is a musical adventure, however his work doesn't end at the decks. He also likes to spend time with his family and his loyal listeners. Hansito is a person who has maintained loyalty with those who are likewise and has promised to return all the love the community has given him. He is not only involved with the nightclub business, participating also in community and various social causes.
In 2016, Hansito was part of Dinero Joven's launch at the world famous Marquee Sydney, an EDM and Latino musical production team. There he met the likes of Diplo from Major Lazer.
Hansito has travelled to and performed at Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama on the The PRVLTN Tour 2016/17.
