Hannes Dufek - What All This Could Be (2019) A theatrical music performance, a 50 minute piece with objects, tapes, video projection, an installation in the performance space, all conceived by commission of the fabulous group ExVoCo / Expanded Voice Company Stuttgart and realised for the first time in the course of Klangraum Festival 2019. While What All This Could Be isa piece to be performed and enjoyed as a listener, it also raises questions of commonality, of common agency, living and working together - both via the various artistic means applied and by the actual inclusion of audience members (should they wish to, that is) in the final movement of the piece as musicians, sound producers, active agents in the making of this music. Though written and conceived by myself, the performance would in many ways not be what it is were it not for fantastic Christie Finn, soprano, voice and objects Céline Papion, cello, voice, objects Matias Bocchio, baritone, voice and objects Frank Wörner, bass baritone, voice and objects & Felix Behringer, clarinets, voice, objects and lots of technical help Aside from their manifold engagements as musicians in this piece, these wonderful people took the given opportunities for creativity and adding their own wisdom and views to the piece in their hands marvelously.
