Hands of the Heron Hands of the Heron Bristol Hands of the Heron (Bristol, UK) are best known for their distinctive multilayered vocal harmonies. Their shapeshifting sound draws from an eclectic pool of influence including contemporary alt-folk, polyphonic choral music, 60s-era psychedelia, and cinematic minimalism. Comprising BEA, Anonymous They, Bec Garthwaite, Bethany M. Roberts and Tom Yates, each band member brings a signature style of writing that they collectively arrange with powerful vocal harmonies and flexible instrumentation. The resulting songs are cocooned within an immersive sonic landscape that listeners can lose themselves in. Each songwriter also has a solo project featuring regular performance & production collaborations from within the band, and they recently launched DIY label Cuculi Records to release their music. They celebrated the release of their debut album in 2017 by embarking on a joint tour with former bandmate and long-term collaborator Ben Osborn, who has written material for the band and included various members in his line up for recording & live shows. They have performed at landmark Bristol venues, and spent several summers extensively touring the UK festival circuit.
