To me, music is a constant evolution of sounds that simultaneously changes as we change and grow..
At an early age I found music to be my passion. Though now such a statement is considered a cliché; I genuinely can not use the word ‘passion’ elsewhere in my life. I remember listening to groups like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC-DC, Queen, Pink Floyd, or Eric Clapton on my Dad’s old record player and how it simply bought me so much joy; it became my best friend and it electrified my life. I would be ungrateful to deny how these groups-these musical giants-inspired me through their captivating music.
At 9 years old I joined my school’s music band playing both the piano and flute. It was the foundation of my musical education as I performed classical pieces with my class-mates. It was usually in front of family and teachers for things like school Christmas shows and various community events. These simple joyful events bought a sense of community and ‘togetherness’, I realised then how the power of sounds is a force; a wave of energy that can be manipulated and shaped into emotional expressions.. This realization grew stronger as I started to play the guitar when I was 15. In this experimental phase, I started mixing different sounds and developing my own tunes. A year later I felt the urge to express my self publicly, so at 16 years old I joined a local band called “Artefacto”.
“Artefacto” was more than a band for me. I met my friends there, people who till now have been close to me and a much valued, respected & loved part of my life. We performed both cover songs and our own compositions. The music we developed was a mix between hardcore and punk (which we called heavy metal), though it was very distant from the likes of Metallica or Iron Maiden.
As Artefacto developed new songs and welcomed new members, we planned consistent positive changes to our music which ultimately lead to a refreshed & new identity. Appropriately, we renamed our band to “Altar” and realigned our self in the power metal music genre. This period also saw us performing many live shows, which was an accurate reflection of our increasing confidence in our technical & entertainment ability.
Altar members and other bands developed a music organization called “Arlaque”. We taught music to beginners; electric and classic guitar, bass, drums. Every three or four months we organized an event where bands were able to play 15 minutes in a very popular student gig with more than 15 bands!
In short time “Arlaque” grow so much as we did, some of the members moved to other bands as I did. When I was 18 I received a call to pay with “Crienium”, a promising Heavy Metal band with a CD called “Sombras”. I toured with the band all over Spain, performing live shows along with other professional Spanish bands
My years in “Crienium” helped me to establish many relationships with other professional bands and radio stations. We participated in the organization of the “Pandereta Festival”, negotiating with suppliers, council, radio and magazines to make one of the best underground festivals of Madrid, with 2 different stages and different genes: hip hop, rock, metal, punk, ska…
Thanks to that experience of interacting with various musical genres, I found my self naturally more involved in the hip hop scene, supporting an urban artist called “Hammurabi” with a CD released in 2009 called “Penumbra”
Having then moved to Ireland and London as a period of reflection and to improve my English Language skills; I started to extensively experiment with music production which is technically more complex and advanced. I developed a style I call Dubmetal.
Dubmetal is the mix of metal, dubstep, with some hiphop influences.
All the songs I am uploading at the moment are just a demo of something I hope to be able to release it in the future.
