Hamilton Beach Nathan Asman Eugene, OR & Salt Lake City, UT Hamilton Beach started as the brainchild of Nathan Asman, who during the course of his advanced formal music education encountered a group of musicians that held complementary musical interests and ideas. Joined by Travis Lien on drums the band you see before you was born. Nathan takes the helm on the electronic side of things, using electronic instruments including both a Monome and a number of keyboards. He primarily utilizes Ableton Live to handle the electronically generated sound and Max/MSP for the programming side of things. With Travis forming the rhythmic backbone on drums the sonic landscape is filled out, resulting in an organic musical entity aimed at merging the precision of electronic music technology with good old-fashioned human gusto. Our intent is to return the audience-to-musician relationship that lacks in so many otherwise phenomenal electronic musical experiences that have become the mainstay of the contemporary music scene.
