gary weir gary weir Belfast gary weir, born in belfast northern ireland, has always thrived on music since he can remember. back in the early years he was brought up with rock and metal playing in his brothers sound system by artists such as ac/dc, pink floyd, led zeplin and so on, and this started his love for most musical styles. gary then started to find his feet in the early dance scene his earliest memories being human resource - dominator and la style - james brown is dead, and so on. after hearing these tracks and learning about how these were mixed into a dj set he nagged his parents to get him his first set of turntables. at the young age of 13 he was trying to mix with belt drive decks but before long got technics sl1210's and really started to improve. the first dj's gary listened to were home grown legends like jacko, gleave, robbie nelson, glen molloy, computer and marty c. gary then started to move more and more into the progressive house, deep house and tech house genres and his love for the electronic music scene grew and grew. now gary was listening to brothers in rhythm, sasha, john digweed, nick warren, deep dish, way out west, quivver, danny tenaglia, frankie knuckles, breeder, tilt and bt to name but a few, and had started to play in some local clubs and pubs or house parties when asked. gary was later to lose some interest in the dance scene as he had other life commitments but after a few years he found himself getting interested again probably helped by a trip to the rave capitol of europe (in his own opinion) ibiza. he started mixing again and got a turn djing on carrick fm a local independent radio station. gary then got himself pioneer cdjs and got back into the deep tech and progressive house music that he loves so much. now you can hear his sets being played on deep and deeper and baggo deep via podcast on tunnel fm. his sets also appear here on soundcloud so listen out folks gary weir is back once again..................keep it real!
