RUSTY ROBOT by gusse_dsx published on 2014-07-03T11:31:02Z “Rusty Robot” By gusse^digisonix Track started on PC / FastTracker2 some time back in 1999. Tune finished on Mac / MilkyTracker July 2014. 32 Channels. Post mix/master in Audition. A few years back a friend told me I might consider using more arpeggios in my tunes. That suggestion has stuck with me as I go on making this kind of music. I found old patterns with the first arpeggioriff of this song in my archives a few years back. Continued building on it from there. This is one of those tunes I have been fiddling with now and then over a long period of time. Many parts and versions have come and gone. I think that might be evident now when you listen to it. Not sure if it’s coherent any more but I hope this release version is at least a fun mess. I think this might be my first full on 32 channel chiptune. And I know it’s the first time I have resorted to more extended mixing and mastering outside the tracker. Feels like cheating, but I got fed up trying to do all the smaller tweaks inside Milkytracker so I gave it a runthrou in Audition. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This tune is dedicated to Hendrik Österdal Djurfelter for igniting my current overuse of arpeggios. Thanks for the push! Genre Chiptune Comment by FAX Machine how did you make that filter-esqe effect at the beginning? 2017-06-16T16:47:54Z Comment by Zac Geraghty One of my favourites!! 2017-03-02T06:21:47Z Comment by diafragment My favorite part... 2014-11-12T13:25:33Z Comment by Back☆ Funky! I really enjoy your control over which sounds are left and right. It feels more like I am in the tune as opposed to just listening to it. 2014-08-13T18:50:05Z Comment by 7OES Sick man! :D 2014-07-18T17:19:46Z Comment by Malmen Nice! :D 2014-07-06T11:58:09Z Comment by Adil Soubki I am so glad I started following you. 2014-07-04T08:19:52Z Comment by dsv101 I love the power behind everything, so layered I'd think i'm listening to an onion1 2014-07-03T15:59:13Z
