New release. Faster than expected.

This is one of my early FT2 4chn .mod chiptunes, polished and finalized in Milkytracker. Originally made some time early 1997. Back in those days I was pretty strict with the limitations. 4chn at the most and filesize below 30kb otherwise I didn’t feel like it was a proper chiptune to me.

Nowadays I couldn’t care less about the filesizes but I did keep it 4chn to stay true to the old school nature of the original track. I changed format to .xm since I needed the extra room for effects to do the tweaks I wanted.

When I originally composed the song I was very influenced by D-zire and his percussive/staccato sound. Not sure if the influence is evident any more but if you want to check out where some of the inspiration came from these are two examples that pop up in my mind:

When I came back to finalize the song I didn’t change any melodies or the structure of the song. I only focused on the dynamics and sounds. The somewhat drive-like nature of the sound is inspired by this recent Scarzix & Ziphoid c64 tune: https://soundcloud.com/ziphoid/scarzix-ziphoid-syntax-eruption.
