Freedom Culture Coalition Freedom Culture Coalition (FCC), is the brainchild of Darren A. Owens and named by a lyric from St. Louis Hip-Hop legend Intellect Emcee. It was formed in the late 90's as a rally point on which several interconnected hip-hop artists wanted to get together, set aside potentially disastrous infighting, and dominate the local market. Well...domination didn't happen. Due to the nature of working with large groups of people, the closest the group came to the original concept was when it was primarily four groups: Fat Trash, Midwest Avengers, InLimbo, and Priests of the Black Forest. Other projects and combinations of these core musicians and emcees formed various groups from the late 90's until early 2000's, when Fat Trash disbanded, and members of the other groups slowly but surely started families. Fast forward to today, and the original concept is back, led by John Harrington (BC) and Midwest Avengers, reincarnate. Other groups have been petitioned, and the organization is poised to reestablish itself as a significant contributor to the local progressive entertainment scene.
