Groove Cypher Montreal Groove Cypher is a Funk Rock band, based in Montreal, QC. The band was founded in 2014 by Montreal musicians; Michael (Bass) and Franko (Guitar) and Anthony (Drums), with the intention to try and create an original, funky new sound that would stand out in Montreal. The current band lineup, as of 2016, consists of Michael (Bass), Franko (Guitar), Kerrie (Drums) and Peter (Vocals). It is an international lineup with Peter joining from Germany and Kerrie from the UK, bringing a European approach to the music. The resulting sound combines funky riffs and catchy melodies with some heavier sections of music that will have you dancing one minute and headbanging the next. As a relatively new band on the scene they are currently focused on writing new music, playing shows around Montreal and recording a few demos.
