"Tomb Raider," "Eyes Wide Shut," "Street Smart" by Grierson & Leitch published on 2018-03-19T02:06:10Z We concentrate on new movies on this podcast, but we'll confess: This week, we're more into a particularly fascinating set of Reboots. That might be because we weren't able to get to the best-reviewed film of the weekend, "Love, Simon." We apologize. Alas: We do discuss Alicia Vikander's action vehicle "Tomb Raider." But the Reboots are where the real action is. First, the big one: 1999's "Eyes Wide Shut," the final film from Stanley Kubrick. Can it possibly be almost 20 years old? Then we look at 1987's "Street Smart," with Christopher Reeve and an Oscar-nominated Morgan Freeman as street pimp "Fast Black." Timestamps: 7:58 "Tomb Raider" 22:40 "Eyes Wide Shut" 55:24 "Street Smart" Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy. As always, give us a review on iTunes with the name of a movie you'd like us to review, and we'll discuss it on a later podcast.
