"BlacKkKlansman," "The Meg," "Four Lions" by Grierson & Leitch published on 2018-08-13T01:29:30Z We are not going to let the ridiculousness of "Best Popular Film" at the Oscars distract us from the excitement of a new Spike Lee movie ... but we can't ignore that inanity either. So we kick off this week's show with the Academy's dumb new category, before getting down to business with Spike Lee's electric new film "BlacKkKlansman." That's a much more meaty topic than the big hit of the weekend, the Jason Statham snorer "The Meg." Then, in our Reboot section, we look at the 2010 terrorist comedy "Four Lions." We totally forgot Riz Ahmed and Benedict Cumberbatch were in that. Stick around for the very end of the episode for a super special musical interlude. Timestamps: 10:10 "BlacKkKlansman" 38:31 "The Meg" 55:40 "Four Lions" Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy. As always, give us a review on iTunes with the name of a movie you'd like us to review, and we'll discuss it on a later podcast.
