Alexey Chunikhin
Moscow
Grey Mouse is a psychedelic rock band from Russia with a rich history and diverse back catalogue. It was founded in Moscow in late 1990s by Alexey Chunikhin, who has since been the only constant part of the collective as it went through multiple musical experiments and lineup changes.
Sticking to its recognizable depressive-psychedelic style, Grey Mouse have gradually expanded their range through unorthodox grunge and etno-laced stoner blues to atmospheric extramundane chamber rock.

Bio continue...
During its existence, with a different composition of its members, the band has recorded and released five studio albums "No masks" - 2005 (CD-Jagi Jagi Records, Russia), "Blind&Ugly" of 2008 (CD-BRP records, Russia), "Trip" of 2013 (CD-BRP records, Russia; LP - 69WATT, ANAZITISI Records Greece), “Animalism” of 2015 (CD- Soyuz_music), “Gaddafi's Crying” – 2015 г. (Soyuz music). The band gives a large number of live performances in Moscow and other cities, participates in various festivals, preserving and maintaining its own style.
The band is not afraid of experiments. Along with the song-like genre, Grey Mouse is also actively experimenting with noise and background music. The band also collaborated with the Film Club, "Art Cinema" (Moscow), making live voicing of silent movie masterpieces of the early 20th century (the so-called "live film shows").
The band tape-records their albums at the studio in A. Bochko Center for Arts and Creativity. An instrumental song called “Snow (Spiral Walk)” from the album “Trip” got into the musical collection “Psychedelic World Music, Discovery, vol. 1” of the "Trail Records"(USA) label. The collection covers the psychedelic genre embracing bands from all over the world (the official release (on CD) was on August 6, 2012). “Trip” was also released on vinyl at the Greek label “69 WATT” (Anazitisi Records) in June 2014.
The two albums: “Animalism” and “Gaddafi's Crying” were released by the Russian label "Soyuz music". A compilation of the tracks from these albums was released on records (under the name “Twisted Tango”) by the Greek label “Musicbazz”
Today Grey Mouse has finished recording its new album “A Moment of Weakness”. The band's new material is characterized by smooth and charismatic male vocal framed by laid back country/blues guitar passages and gothic cello sounds. These confessional and pensive compositions inspire meditation and bring about deep thoughts about hidden dimensions of human existence. Mysterious and brooding music of Grey Mouse hypnotizes and absorbs.
