Originally from Queens, New York, Trudee Lunden began singing, songwriting and learning guitar at 10 years old. As a songwriter, lyricist, vocalist, acoustic guitarist, music publisher, executive producer (and now playwright!) she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with minors in English and Business from the University of Redlands in California. Trudee has collaborated with many artists, musicians, composers, producers and has been an active member of numerous organizations including the National Academy of Songwriters, Los Angeles Songwriters Showcase, Nashville Songwriters International Association, Songsalive, Songwriters Vantage, SongNet, Los Angeles Songwriters Co-op, SongTown USA, Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society, Second Story Blues Alliance and Dramatists Guild of America.
Her diverse catalog has been featured in TV/Film and worldwide digital releases as well as co-written and/or recorded with notable performers such as John Jorgenson (U.S. Ambassador of Gypsy Jazz and world-class guitarist for Elton John among others), Sunny Hilden (songwriter for Ray Charles, Sting, David Archuleta, Patti LaBelle, etc.), Josie Aiello (Quincy Jones’ Qwest artist), Teresa James (Blues/L.A. session singer), Briana Nadeau (soulful L.A. session singer), Jody Whitesides (award-winning Just Plain Folks artist), Brian Brazil (Blues Hall of Fame Harmonica Master) plus numerous others. She’s worked in various recording studios with many producers including Edward Tree (U.S. guitarist for Spencer Davis) and Gary Mallaber (original drummer for Steve Miller Band).
Trudee and her co-writers have received accolades from Billboard Magazine for “I Knew There Was A Song” and from Travel Weekly Magazine for “Caribbean Cruise”. Her co-written composition “Good Friends” was featured in the documentary “Unconditional Love: The AIDS Heartline Story” and also in a Pets-For-Vets story video. She co-wrote the "Revitalize-U" radio theme with composer David G. Steele. Concept song "Let's Get Wired" was featured in the 2012 film trailer for "Goats" with X-Files' David Duchovny. She's also had songs licensed on Lifetime Television episodes of "Dance Moms" with combined uploads on YouTube now hitting over a million views.
As a BMI songwriter/publisher, Lunden’s songs and recordings encompass varied genres of Pop, Rock, Country, Dance, Blues, Folk, Adult Contemporary Ballads, Rhythm and Blues and more. She's skilled as a "top line" lyricist writing words and/or melodies for music tracks, Musical Theatre, and as a slogan or tag line copywriter for marketing and advertising creative briefs. Her social media handle “Green Music Lady” reflects a special interest in writing message songs and online posts focused on current environmental, social and economic issues. This led to an idea of merging selected songs from her catalog to create an original story concept intended for Stage, Television, Film or Internet.
Trudee Lunden’s latest collaborative project is appropriately entitled: “Life in Harmony (A Green Musical)”. Working in a new genre, Trudee audited the 2012 ASCAP Foundation / DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop directed by Stephen Schwartz in Glendale, California. Later that July she received a Quick Grant Award through the Creative Capacity Fund to attend the Academy for New Musical Theatre (now New Musicals, Inc.) Biz of the Musical Theatre Biz Conference in North Hollywood, California. In 2014, Lunden partnered with singer/songwriter, actor, playwright, AEA and SAG-AFTRA member Monique Lukens (a.k.a. EcoMonique) to co-write the book for this modern musical, still in development.
