Little solos for sewing machine with a squared structure (excerpt) by Graziano Meneghin published on 2013-03-16T21:52:47Z The artist performs several solos for sewing machine tryin, at the same time, to sew a squared frame with blue threads on white fabric. The patterns of the thread are chosen in order to equivalent to a rhythm of 6/8. The artist chooses to limit the building of the grid avoiding to close one square without closing another at the same time. In this way he brings about a systematic mistake that causes the end of the solo and the cut of the fabric on which he is working. The pieces are then exposed from time to time. The performance begins at Bevilaqua La Masa (Venice) on the 18th of December 2012, when the artist wasn’t yet able to stich. In occasion of DoNo exhibition at Viafarini, Milan, the collection of the cloth’s pieces is showcased inside a glass case alongside to an audio documentation of the previous performances.
