GRANDSISTER William Colvin Sydney Sydney indie-electronic producer Grandsister returns with a new single, ‘Headlights’, merging classic electronic dance music with a darker indie-pop sound reminiscent of Digitalism, Röyksopp and vintage New Order. The track is a collaboration between Grandsister (William Colvin, singer of Sydney indie-rock band Hedge Fund) and New Zealand-born singer-songwriter Sarah Belkner, who has won praise from the likes of Neil Finn of Crowded House. Belkner's lyrics, with their talk of "violent intimacy", carry suggestions of hitchhiker murder or the sci-fi ambiguity of films like Lost Highway & Under The Skin, but float above a more driven electronic beat provided by Colvin's arrangement. ‘Headlights’ will be released on Tuesday 10th November via iTunes and Spotify.
