Gethsemane - Solo Flugelhorn with String accompaniment by God's Trumpet published on 2013/03/10 10:21:07 +0000 I am alone, In truth I have journeyed the path laid before me. Here I am, My walk is nearly over and I am weary. The words that were spoken soon fulfilling, Your purpose complete, if I am willing. A pouring of Grace bringing hope and light, A final breath gives life. This is Your will. This is Your will. But it’s not mine. Here I lie, In the stillness of the night, alone. The darkness, The fear of my calling consumes all of me. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow, My heart is paralysed with fear, Father please, take this burden from me, Take this cup so that I can be free. My anguished heart, it bears this cup of poison. Oh Father please, Set me free! Yet not my will, but Your will be done. The time has come, give me strength, give me hope. Your will be done. GETHSEMANE. My wife wrote this song a number of years ago. It speaks of Jesus' time in the Garden of Gethsemane just before his crucifixion. I have only just got around to doing an arrangement and recording. This arrangement is for string quartet and solo flugelhorn.
