At the age of 8 Matt was already singing in the mirror to his favorite boy band at the time, drumming on school table tops at the age of 11, and got his first guitar at the age of 14!
His parents never took him to get lessons...This didn't stop Matt! He taught himself to play basic progression chords, major and minor, on both his new guitar and the grand piano they had downstairs.
The first official group he was a part of was at his high school youth group. The church band! ...and he play bass!!! All 4 chords! haha, Minor start but he loved the whole experience...He wanted more! So his senior year in high school Matt, 18 at the time, and his friend Mikey went on Craigslist and decided to form a shoe gaze band. The band, after gaining and losing around 5 members recorded 2-3 songs while he was guitarist/vocalist, disbanded after 1 year. Which still exist to our knowledge under the same name of "Pale Blue" http://www.last.fm/music/Pale+Blue
After the band split Matt oddly enough decided to put instruments aside and leaned more to spoken word and poetry. Although as exciting as all that was...Rapping seemed a lot more fun! This phase didn't last more than 4 months although a lot of important events occurred during this part of his life. He met Jeremy, Rod, and Eric. Jeremy heard he was interested in music and told him he produced. He was and remains Matt's teacher, mentor, idol, and friend. Eric recorded his first..and last rap single. "Marijuana Massacre" (Link coming soon!!!) And Rod dj/producer, already matts friend, became his teacher and closer friend as well. After Marijuana Massacre, Matt craved the ability to produce, and was fascinated by the concept of sound design.
Since meeting up with Jeremy, Rod, and Eric, Matt created a Facebook, Soundcloud, and Youtube. When he was 20 when he got his first D.A.W. (Which is Abelton live) As a DJ/Producer he went by "Antimatter." The reason for the name was to symbolize how music made him lose track of time. Not being a part of a routine, but to be the opposite and chase ones goals. This molded a core respect for the musical process as a whole for him. He started to develop music theory, Production techniques, and sound design. Releasing a couple tracks within the course of a year he only released 6 tracks out of the 182 projects he had. This was mostly because you don't learn theory and production in one night. As a matter of fact, you learn new stuff everyday since music itself is constantly evolving. Even the most advanced producers are students, we all are. Although lacking much needed music theory, Matt decided to prematurely build a fan base during the learning process to show his metamorphosis of education. He put most of his focus on E.D.M. Learning theory from multiple influences and styles. Trance, House, and Dubstep slowly worked new concepts and ideas into his music.
Present day Matt, 22 years old, switched his name from "Antimatter" to "Horus." The name comes from the Egyptian sun god who conquered Set (The god of darkness and chaos) Every morning to bring sunrise, light, and life back upon the earth. "Horus" stands for the idea that in a world of tragedy and pain, Peace through music can accomplish positive mindsets and a community of people who can create the future we want to live in. After 2 years of just getting the hang of basic sound design, theory, and production his sound had finally started to blossom into the style and signature song he craved. After 2 years of music philosophy and personal enlightenment, music became an expression of unlimited purpose. Constantly learning new tricks and saving up for proper recoding, mastering, and music theory classes, watching what this kid will accomplish in the next couple years with the drive he has will be worth the wait!

The best hip hop track of the night. Feel like I have heard this backround before though. Other than then that way better then the last track i listened to about trees
Im not going to comment on the production for my own reasons but open more dialog with the lryics. expand past what a kick drums purpose is. Meaning dont repeat the same thing
Very clever Idea. My feedback might be put aside if your targeting something else entirely but I will only say that the intro is to long. Me and my girl really enjoyed this
The drum pattern doesn't morph or evolve enough for the style your trying to capture. The midi should act like a controller in a sense. Just something to kick around
Was not expecting the track to go here. Very glad I stumbled across this. Almost feel nostalgic in the vibe Im getting right now. cool piece!
Brought my gloves out for this one. It created visuals just because the sound scape you created. Sorry im lost in a state of trance, but thank you for that haha.
What a great transition. You have done an amazing job with your story telling and sound design. Your track has been my fav of the night
This ladies and gentlemen is what we call a really well designed kick. It sounds so papery! That alone is enough to pull me on the dance floor. Everything else sounds good to though
This is what I call a mood setter. A please slow down a little to set the mood better. Not sure about a voice i hear like 30 sec after this spot but still fun track
I love chiptune but felt that you could have layered in more sounds and foucus. Came of very shoegaze. Maybe making the track more hi-fi and gated it will open a clear idea on where it can go
