DJ Gideon Benedyk joined W!ZARD Radio Station in February 2012. He was known to be the most controversial of the DJ's, and his role was the news and sports presenter for the station. Gideon's show was the first ever talk-show, and was extremely successful with many political and social stars and figures speaking on the show. It broadcasted from 3pm to 4pm every Sunday.
Later in 2012, Gideon gained another title at W!ZARD Radio - the Director of Development. He worked very hard to ensure that the company was maintaining its high expectations as well as taking suggestions from the users and making sure that their voices were heard. In November 2012, in an interview about his time at W!ZARD Radio so far, this is what Gideon had to say:
"I have been part of this outstanding online radio station since February 2012, and I really love what I do. I had never had any experience whatsoever in radio, but I was quite well known for my controversial views and broad statements that always create debate. I have a great interest for politics, education and sport. All these three issues are spoken about in my show. Also, there is some music in the show. To be honest, my knowledge of music is pretty appalling, so I leave my producer and boss DJ James Gilmore to chose the tunes!
My show, which is on 3-4 on a Sunday, cannot be made without the listeners. It is always great to get call-ins (which I do get on my show a lot), especially when people disagree with me! I like to think my show is authentic, which is why I am honest in what I say. I don’t do talking rubbish, I do getting to the point!
My favourite bit of the show is when we get amazing guests over and I interview them. I am never afraid to ask them awkward questions, which I know the listeners like! I have had some excellent guests on, and many interesting guests are booked such as former football hooligan now best-selling black author Cass Pennant, political figures such as Gerard Batten and many others including military commanders and religious leaders. I really admire when people call into the show to disagree with my points. As I say every week, the show is about you, me and our opinions.
My plan for the future is to go on and join the British Army, however until then I will continue doing what I love and that is radio, and of course with no other station, than W!ZARD Radio. So tune in to my show from 3-4 on a Sunday, and feel free to call in and tell me your views!”
In early 2013, Gideon broke the news that he planned to leave W!ZARD Radio Media completely at the end of March 2013. In celebration of all of the work and efforts he had done for the company and brand, a massive show was planned.
On the 31st of March 2013, DJ Gideon Benedyk took to the mic for the final time as a presenter with an extraordinary show titled: "Gideon Benedyk's Big Goodbye"! The show featured interviews and debates with some of the most interesting and controversial people: Nick Griffin MEP (leader of the BNP party), Colonel Richard Kemp (Former Commander of All British Forces in Afghanistan) and @FeralJew (Reformed criminal & addict, composer, writer, artist, charity fundraiser, drug lecturer & marksman).
The SoundCloud account has all of the debates and interviews from that 2 hour special.
