Getting Better Acquainted Dave Pickering London A weekly podcast: Join Dave Pickering on his journey to get better acquainted with the people he knows. Part interview show, part oral history project and part autobiography through conversation. British Podcast Award 2017 winner (bronze in Best Interview category) GBA was nominated for a 2012 Radio Production Award, aired for 3 seasons on Resonance 104.4 FM and was featured on BBC Radio 4's In Pod We Trust, BBC Radio 5 Live’s Helen and Olly's Required Listening and has been recommended by The Guardian, Time Out and the Financial Times Comments by Getting Better Acquainted Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @withafunnyheart: I'm always prepared to accept I may be being sexist without being aware of it. But I struggle to see what this refers to. If you consider Mansplaining Masculinity to be sexist against men then I suggest you explore the project more and see where it's coming from. If you think it's sexist about other genders I'd definitely be interested to hear why. In terms of losing a follower I've been making this show and talking about it on GBA since 2015 so if this advert for my book alienated you I do wonder how long you've been following me for and why you weren't alienated earlier. Anyway thanks for the feedback and do feel free to expand on it a bit more so I can see where you're coming from. 2018-02-28T09:53:24Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @clb: It's a podcast, but yes, it's abut listening to peoples experiences. Thanks for listening and glad you found it interesting :-) 2016-09-01T14:17:54Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @covill1995: Absolutely! 2015-03-23T10:33:21Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted :-D https://soundcloud.com/gettingbetteracquainted/gba-15-edinburgh-festival 2014-07-17T15:35:55Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @mssamanthamann: :-D 2014-05-22T15:48:01Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @erniestalin: Thanks so much. I will pass that on to Chris too. And I think podcasting is more narrowcasting but I'm happy to call it broadcasting too :-) 2014-02-17T14:14:23Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @darrenbartlett: Thanks for all your feedback. Really appreciated. 2014-02-17T14:08:31Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @emily-t-braswell: I don't use anything like that to gain more followers/plays. I just use word of mouth and social media promotion. 2014-02-12T16:19:50Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @viggo-phineas: Thanks :-) 2013-11-24T11:08:46Z Comment by Getting Better Acquainted @nina-gray-1: It's always different if you come from a place or you come to a place. And when Tony left Newcastle it was a different time :-) 2013-11-24T08:56:26Z
