George Pennington

George Pennington is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, clinician, researcher, and educator known for his passionate, high energy performances, and eclectic sense of humor. George has performed at venues all across America. He has played venues such as Ruth Eckerd Hall, The Capitol Theatre, The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, Aisle 5 in Atlanta, Suwannee Hulaween, and the Orange Blossom Jamboree Music Festival just to name a few. In a past life, George was also a MVP football player, and award winning thespian.
George has also been featured on local radio station WMNF 88.5's "Live Music Showcase" and ABC Channel 10's "Studio 10 Live" program multiple times. In addition to his performing career, George is also a dedicated teacher. George composes, arranges, and directs a high school a cappella group. He also teaches private guitar lessons and directs a rock and roll summer camp. George has been a featured clinician for the Florida Music Educators Crossover Festival. In 2013, George was selected to be one of 25 participants in the GRAMMY Museum's "GRAMMY Music Revolution Project".
Currently, George is performing both solo and with rock band Displace. He graduated from the University of South Florida with his Bachelor's of Science in Music Education in May of 2018.
Influences: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Black Sabbath, Robin Trower, George Benson, Buddy Guy, Prince, James Brown, Patrick Stewart, and Tim and Eric, David Liebe Hart, and the stars (some of which play with laughing sams dice), and friendships throughout life.
