Growing up with a Single mother with 5 children and no direction just trying to make it through the week. My mom was an immigrant from Mexico, she risked everything to come and hope to have a better life, with the help of my family, we made it through. My mom worked crazy hours and jobs, anything to make a dollar, she stayed strong and manage to pull through and got her US Citizenship, raised 5 kids no dad no help. Life was tough, we went through crazy times living in San Diego, California, wasnt so easy. My mom decided to take more risks, this time to move to Los Angeles, California in a city named Compton to be specific. It was the year 1995, Compton was extremely ghetto, Gangster hip hop was at its peak, Tupac just died, Biggie Gone! man those years were the craziest and i remember everything like it was yesterday and i was only 5-7 years old. The streets were flooded with crime, everything was bad with gang members everywhere. I didnt really like my environment, i was different, i didnt wanna be like them. Growing up with 4 older siblings helped alot, my taste in music was insanely different. I like every type of music cause of my brothers and sisters. I use to listen to Rock, Reggae, Spanish Rock, hiphop, almost anything even Classical Music. Ive always been open to any sound as long as the vibes are good. School was ok, my mom sent us to another school outside of the ghetto, to get a better education away from thugs. Everything started working out for my mom, shes always been warm hearted yet such a strong person, with powerful characteristics. She taught us manners and how to respect others as how you want to be respected. At age 7 we moved to Long Beach, California a city not too far from Compton. My mom thought living in Long Beach would be better for us, but gangs from Compton and Wilmington would collide against Long Beach gangs where we resided, we lived near a war zone!. ughh! Society was not good, but it did tough me up tho. Music is what kept me away from all the hate out in the real world. I remember i use to be so in love with the Movie Titanic and the musical in it, that movie was soo good!! At those times my taste in music was sooo crazy. Classical Music, to straight ghetto Gangster Hip Hop, and im not gonna lie i was a little rebelious cause of what society did to me but i was never a criminal. Finally my mom was fed up with all this disaster, and moved once again same city in Long Beach, CA but this time the environment was good where we lived, sadly i still had to attend a ghetto school cause of commute/transportation. At age 13-17 everything was going so great for us my mom and sister bought a 2 unit house together. Finally...finally we were able to breathe!
