04 Headbangers Ball by Geno Cochino published on 2014-12-31T20:27:04Z Paul Swytch and Geno Cochino collaborated for several years under the moniker Smokey And The Bandit, underwent a name change after threats of lawsuit from Burt Renyolds, and after a two-year hiatus, they decided to release a project that’s been shelved for as long. If nothing else, their Pyramidz EP is a reminder that these dudes were lightyears ahead of the trap game. The sounds that Flosstradamus made popular bubbled for quite some time before their instantaneous rise to stardom in the streets of Atlanta, and alongside Swytch and Cochino, acts like Mayhem, Heroes x Villains, and Distal were born off of those 808 vibes. Pyramidz were a bit different though, as they leaned on dub influence and stuck to a distinctively dark style. As someone who’s followed both of these artists through the years, this offering is a phenomenal refresher course, but if you’re unfamiliar with either, you should use this as a springboard to dive into their other work. You can stream and download the entire project below, and keep it locked for more updates from both of these amazing artists. We’ll keep uploading their work as long as they keep funneling it to us. - Nappy (DoAndroidsDance) Genre dubstep
