Gayla was born and raised in Cashmere WA. She has been performing on stage for the past 25 years, since the age of five. She is a Multi-talented woman who has been involved in every part of the music business. Gayla has had private singing lessons for the past eighteen years, from a renowned opera singer and teacher Leslie McEwen. She studied and trained in Jazz, Classical, Opera, Show tunes, Country, Rock, Christian, and technique. Gayla has had the opportunity to perform for many talent contests such as Miss America Pre Teen and Queen Cashmere Pageants.
Gayla has flown all over the USA to sing and perform for many people. Gayla has attended many different events; such as County fairs, Rodeos, to Performing the National Anthem, and entertain. Gayla has been well known in the Pacific Northwest and Washington state area for many years. With a wide fan base already established, she is frequently asked to perform for special events, Games, Parties, Funerals, Weddings, Political functions and events. From fifty to her largest crowd of fifty five thousand gayla has played sports, spoken, danced, acted, and sang for many different types of people. She can mold to any situation or event and put on a great show. Gayla recorded three cd's and had airplay on local radio stations in Washington state before she was even 15. She opened up for Tracy Byrd and Black Hawk before out of high school.
Gayla is very well educated. She has obtained a degree in Audio Engineering, and Music Business from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, AZ. She also attended the University Of Washington State, for Classical Vocal. She moved Nashville when she was 19 years old. She has done several internships and worked in studios, done sound design for musicals and plays, engineered at keech rainwater’s (member of “Lonestar”) home studio, and acting with laughing Corpse; a Nashville comedy improves company. Gayla has toured for the past three years as a background singer for “Jimmie Van Zant band,” Sharing the stage with many great acts like, REO SPEED WAGON, DAVID ALLEN COE, RICK DARENGER, PAT TRAVERS, AMANDA OVERMYER, and 38 Special, to name a few. Also getting to play Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (Full Throttle and Broken Spoke.)
Gayla has finished her Nashville recorded Cd, “Country Star Blues”. She also fronts her own band the “Gayla Graves Band.” Gayla is well educated, and a natural leader who knows about the Music Industry from a performance and a technical point of view. Whether she is off stage or on, Gayla is very poised and professional. She has the talent it takes to make any stage she steps on hers.
