GARAGEM’s business is driven towards promoting music events.
Garagem producer seeks to promote electronic music and live shows, the genre is rock, drum and bass, techno or electro. After the election, by the Committee of Porto - European Capital of Culture 2011, the project proposed by the producer, it had its greatest growth, and thus promote nights with the most prestigious names in the world.
Before the night dedicated to electronic music, the garage mostly promoted rock concerts, and gave his official activity beginning in 1996, the city of Guimarães. The presentation took place at Garagem Festival, which featured numerous bands of renown, the national scene. Result of this success comes the Garage compilation, intended to introduce the new Portuguese talent, including Bergen-Belsen, Blind Man's Buff, Parkinson's, Red Beans, etc.. (Gomo, - who is now a success).
The compilation led to the production of a zine that the disk image, wanted to know about this hidden Portugal. The 2nd edition, foresaw the future of production, including an electronic music theme, produced by Phast Mike, the first theme of drum and bass to be released in Portugal. The transition was well done, for electronic music, and in 2001 the garage starts a new project in the genre drum and bass, so far unknown to the majority of Portuguese.
Having won the tender for projects to be supported by Porto in 2011, the Garage begins to promote monthly events with names like Moving Fusion, Bad Company, Marky, Ed Rush, Ryme Tyme, Bryan Gee, Shimon, Red One, Optical, Mc IC3, Mc Riddla, MC Stamina, etc.. Their parties contagious, and a reputation for producing innovative, led to the CBT Heineken Festival, chose to promote this line-up (excluding the area of trance), as well as Elektro Parade in 2001 and 2003 in the areas of drum and bass, plus the Festival Paredes de Coura, in the area of dance.
In late 2003, and seeing the need to return to innovate, to start producing a new CILO: @ Garagem Junkie. To open the hosts invite a worldwide sensation Miss Kittin. The press follows the events, describes the project as something imprescendivel. Followed the Nag Nag Nag club of choice for Madonna, Brian Molko, Boy George and Kate Moss. In just three months, and under the name Soft Club, the garage behind Portugal, Electric Indigo, Jazzanova, Nu Spirit Helsinki, Ladytron, JoJo the Freq, Angie Reed, Dj Marky, Bad Company, FC Kahuna, MichelleGrinser, Lo Fidelity Allstars, Chicken Lips, among others.
Between 2003 and 2012, the garage continued to promote electronic music events, and innovate the national dance floor. And an endless list of names that the garage brought to Portugal for the first time. The events continue to grow, and now no one can remain immune to the famous Garagem parties, such as the Teatro Sá da Bandeira, and Hard-Club. Special events like NYE are now considered by most as the hallmark of electronica music.
2012, brings a new challenge to the promoter. She was elected again, this time by the European Capital of Culture - Guimarães, electronica music to represent the city of birth. In the next year, the producer will still return to the studio to edit albums in the rock area, and obviously continue to innovate with regard to electronic music.
