The short presentation:
---------------------------------
Out of Aarhus, Denmark, comes "Fusskalt" (pronounced /fu:s//kalt/), the five-piece, bastard child of seasoned musicians from various parts of the Danish metal and rock scene. Fusskalt plays a no-nonsense, upbeat stoner metal/desert rock hybrid that makes you wanna yank the throttle, put the pedal to the metal, and cruise on into the sunset. Influences are many, but a few prominent ones are Mustasch, Red Fang, Monster Magnet, Clutch, Sasquatch, Wo Fat, B.L.S. and the likes.

The name Fusskalt is a germanification of the danish word "fodkoldt" (”cold feet”), which describes the demonic situation of it being just cold enough inside, that you have to put on your cotton slippers. The name started out as a working title – possibly because of a light draft in the rehearsal room - and somehow it grew on the band. And eventually it stuck.
The loooong story about who did what, when and what-have-we:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Long-time friends Mike Nielsen (formerly Exmortem) and guitarist Nick Jensen (founder of the former Danish metal band Frozen Sun) started Fusskalt sometime in 2009, having fun and experimenting with a mixed breed of metal. Additional lead guitar is supplied by Thomas G. Brandt (formerly of "Crionic"), who later joins the band as a full member.
Bass player Janus Pedersen, who has previously played with Danish hardcore act Barcode, joins and Fusskalt moves activities into a proper band practice facility in 2011, only to be a drummer short a month later.
By the end of 2011 Simon Esbjerg handles the drums and in the beginning of 2012, the lead vocal is found in Lars Frederiksen ("Teddybear Conspiracy" and various musical productions). Fusskalt records the first three tracks to form the debut EP "Songs for speedin' and Crashin'". With a mix of uptempo metal rock and influences from stoner metal/desert rock, the course is set and this direction takes Fusskalt to where it is today!
Simon leaves shortly after the recording of the first EP, but the empty space behind the drums is filled in autumn 2012, as Jonas E. Nielsen (formerly of the indie/grunge act, "Rostock",) takes over.
In the following months and years, Fusskalt writes a lot of new material and release the EP "Songs for speedin' and crashin' vol. 2", as well as the singles "Drive" and "Stand in line". A music video for the track "Eleanor" is produced in winter/spring 2014 - watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6M4l8862xU
A special, honorable mention goes to the unofficial, 6th member of Fusskalt: producer Henrik Hjortnæs - a.k.a. Mr. Deer. Henrik has been working with the band since the beginning, experimenting with and fine-tuning the recording processes, and he is truly the evil genius in inspiring ”the Fusskalt sound”.
Fusskalt is currently writing new material, and looking forward to finally hit the road in the fall of 2014. See you there, kittens.
